Oh my goodness, you've done it so well. So you've managed to go on Erasmus, but not only that, you're doing it by going to Seville. Olé.
Well, I'm assuming you've done it and that you've jumped right in. If you have the opportunity, what are you waiting for? Get your place and enjoy one of the best experiences of your life.
Whether you already have your place or are just thinking about it, let us help you. Join us on our tour of Seville, where we'll give you all the tips you need to have the best Erasmus you can imagine.
Guide to studying and living as an Erasmus student in Seville
Studying isn't all about it. With us, you'll get to know a little about the city of Seville, its culture, cuisine, and atmosphere. Everything you need to make the decision to come and make the most of every day you spend in Seville.
Why choose Seville for your Erasmus program?
I'll try to summarize it as much as I can so you don't spend half your time here reading, but it's really going to be very difficult for me, because Seville isn't even halfway normal.
Seville has a more than affordable cost of living. It's a great city—let no one forget that we're talking about the capital of Andalusia—and its style and quality of life demonstrate this, but its prices aren't the exorbitant ones you might imagine for a renowned city.
And now that I've mentioned the quality of life, it's very good to live here. The sum of all the elements we'll be discussing makes Seville a true paradise to live in, whatever your profile; from student to retiree, to digital nomad. It doesn't matter, you'll feel at home here from the first second.
The history and culture of Seville are one of its greatest gems. And if you're a restless mind who seeks culture and history like a mouse seeks cheese, you'll fall right in love with Seville. And not just for the city itself, but for the rest of Andalusia.
You're just a stone's throw from culturally charged cities like Córdoba, Málaga, Cádiz, and Granada. So, it also has fantastic connections to the rest of the autonomous community, so you can't stop exploring, just in case Seville becomes too small for you, which I doubt.
The atmosphere, simply put, is fantastic. The people here are open, friendly, and always willing to help. What can we say, we were born that way. But we also have to add the city's great student atmosphere thanks to its two main universities: the University of Seville and the Pablo Olavide University.
Take advantage of this atmosphere by being part of it, joining Facebook groups (they work incredibly well), student associations, and whatever else you can find. There are always parties and events organized by and for students in Seville.
To wrap things up, we can't forget the food—the food! The blessed Andalusian gastronomy has its heart in Seville, with traditional recipes and dishes that originated here. We use the finest raw materials, and you'll notice it in the final result.
In short, here you can eat, drink, go out, study, and live very well.
How to Get Around Seville's City Center by Public Transportation
The first piece of advice I'll give you about Seville's transportation is that the best option is built-in. Walking everywhere is one of the best options if you're only going to be traveling in the city center.
Of course, everything depends on your travel radius, and you'll discover that as the days go by. If walking isn't enough for you, you can use Servici, the bicycle company that operates in Seville. It's an affordable and healthy way to discover the city from a different perspective.
You also have the option of buses, trams, and metro services, sorted by convenience and price. Although this is a very individual matter, some people have never ridden the metro, while others never get off the tram. There are weekly and monthly passes, as well as significant discounts, such as the student card. A single trip costs between €1.20 and €1.40.
The Most Important Monuments and Attractions in Seville
When your family comes to visit, you'll have to act as a city tour guide, so if you're not visiting it for yourself, do it for those who are coming to see you, full of excitement.
To help you get your first round of visits straight, here are the must-see monuments, the ones you should see as soon as you set foot in Seville. The rest will appear over time, with tips from locals and those you discover yourself.
The Plaza de España, the Giralda, the Torre del Oro, Seville Cathedral, and María Luisa Park are must-sees you've seen in history books, TV shows, or movies.
You also can't miss visiting entire neighborhoods, like Triana or the Barrio de Santa Cruz. Or experience things like you've never experienced before, like what you'll experience when visiting la Feria de Abril, the April Fair, or la Semana Santa, which is Easter in a very traditional way.
What to eat and where to eat in Seville
Pick up a menu from any bar, close your eyes, and point at any spot on the menu—a fantastic choice! And there's no way to go wrong here, from fried fish to flamenco-style eggs, to dogfish or gazpacho. There's no way to choose a bad dish.
The local cuisine of Seville blends with Andalusian cuisine, creating a combination you won't believe. Any bar or tavern you find will offer you pure bliss. The best of the best. And the point of all this is that you discover it on your own, although we can help you get started, such as visiting Bar Triana 40, El Avelino, Bar Marbella, or Bar el Picoteo, among others.
Leisure and where to go out in Seville
You'll have to go out for a bit, right? This might be the phrase you'll say most often during your Erasmus program. And the answer will always be yes. I could tell you about the city's many museums, like the Fine Arts Museum, the Popular Arts Museum at La Cartuja, or the Archivo de Indias. But I think you're thinking about going out and doing other things.
Here, the afternoon party is almost a religion. The atmosphere is the best in Spain, and I'm not exaggerating, I'm very objective. If you don't believe me, stop by here for lunch and see what time you finish.
There are countless terraces, taverns mixed with bars and pubs, making Seville a truly crazy place to go out for lunch, dinner, drinks, or dancing. The Alfalfa and Alameda areas are the first ones you should visit. The former is a street full of bars of all kinds and a favorite spot for the student crowd.
Alameda is a square also full of bars, pubs, and terraces like D'Arte, Bar Alameda 84, and Funclub. But as we've already mentioned, the best thing about this is to surround yourself well and let yourself go to discover incredible places.
Other very interesting areas for partying are the Nervión area, where the largest and most popular clubs are located. Our last area is Calle Betis, full of bars with cheap drinks, although somewhat more expensive than the Alameda area.
The capital of Seville is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Spain. Among all the types of tourists who visit, school trips and end-of-year trips are no exception.
A magical city by night and by day, Seville offers a wide variety of activities and events like few other cities. Its beauty, history and culture make it the perfect destination for anyone who visits.
So don't hesitate. If you're thinking about where to go on an end-of-year trip with all the children in your class, stop wondering, because you've just found the perfect solution.
Complete guide to school trips and end-of-year trips in Seville
Why choose Seville for school trips and end-of-year trips?
And if you're one of those people who doesn't trust so easily, here are a few good reasons and pieces of evidence to help you choose the right option, which is Seville.
Let's start with the most obvious thing, which is what you see. Walking through the streets of Seville is a treat for the body and a joy for the senses. You will walk among monuments known throughout the world, such as Seville Cathedral, the Giralda and the Plaza de España.
You will walk among history and art, which is a real treat for the mind, imagination and education of the children on your end-of-year trip. What's more, they will all learn in a fun way, through all kinds of activities, thanks to Seville's location.
You will find leisure activities related to tourism, water sports and nature, which are truly amazing for both children and the adults accompanying them.
Seville, despite being one of Spain's major cities and welcoming thousands of visitors, is also one of the safest cities. What is certain is that you will all eat well. The local cuisine is one of the best inventions of modern humanity. If you think I'm exaggerating, try it first, and then try to argue with me.
Best activities for school trips and end-of-year trips in Seville
Many of the activities recommended for adults can also be adapted for children, as Seville is suited to all types of tourism. This can be seen everywhere, from fun workshops to excellent public transport connections for groups.
Visit Seville Cathedral and the Giralda on your school trip or end-of-year trip to Seville
Let's start with the most important things, the historic centre and its most representative monuments. Seville Cathedral is truly amazing, no matter how you look at it. It is a World Heritage Site and an example of Gothic architecture of unique beauty.
It is essential that you convey to the children how important this building is, both from a religious and cultural and architectural point of view. Although when it comes to important and symbolic buildings, nothing beats the Giralda.
Seville's Giralda is a sign of the city's Arab past, another nod to history, another example of how rich Seville's culture is and how powerful its history is.
Educational activities at the Real Alcázar in Seville during your school trip or end-of-year trip to Seville
Another World Heritage Site, the Real Alcázar in Seville, makes it onto our list, and how could it not? It is a piece of history that must be enjoyed, and what makes it so special is its combination of styles: Mudejar, Renaissance and Gothic.
Put like that, with these words, it might help some children fall asleep. That's why they have special routes and tours designed for children to discover and enjoy the wonder before them. They also organise fun workshops for your school trip or end-of-year trip.
Enjoy the Guadalquivir River on your school trip or end-of-year trip to Seville
The Guadalquivir River, the centre of Seville, which runs through it from top to bottom, its soul, is another of those places you must enjoy to understand. I would tell you to enjoy its surroundings by going out for tapas, but perhaps that's not a good idea with a group of school-age children.
What's the solution? Head for the river. Almost literally. Travelling down the Guadalquivir River by boat is a fantastic idea, because there are options where a guide tells you about the history of both the river and the city as you pass by iconic landmarks.
One of these places is the Torre del Oro, a piece of local and national naval history, a true monument to military history. And not to mention some other activities you can do on the river, only suitable for the brave, such as kayaking.
Parks and squares on your school trip or end-of-year trip to Seville
Even if you decide you can't take it anymore and need a break, you can still continue learning and enjoying Seville. We make a stop, or rather a quick stop because we don't actually stop here, at the most famous square in Spain. And almost in the world, considering it appeared in a Star Wars film...
We arrive at Plaza de España, an iconic spot in the capital, built in 1929 and the perfect place to take hundreds of photos, especially at the plaque with the name of your province. Yes, they're all here, hence the name of the square. You see, there's so much to learn.
Let's surround ourselves with nature for a bit, and a walk takes us to María Luisa Park. A perfect place, now yes, to get some fresh air and rest a little. Even to do something cool like a picnic with all the children in your class and some games. Test what they have learned about Seville.
Isla Mágica on your school trip or end-of-year trip to Seville
I challenge you to go to Seville with a large group of children and try not to go to Isla Mágica. The moment one of them, just one, finds out about this theme park, you're done for.
But it's no wonder, because Isla Mágica is a fantastic, fun amusement park where you can also cool off if you decide to visit its water areas. It's the perfect finishing touch to a school trip or end-of-year trip that they'll never forget. Neither will you.

What´s Easter Week and what it means in Seville?
To speak of Easter Week is to speak of a fundamental part of both the city and the lives of its people. Easter Week in Seville commemorates the final moments of Jesus Christ's life: his passion, death, and resurrection. The 60 brotherhoods, yes, you read that right, they are called Hermandades, parade in processions to the Cathedral during a festival that runs from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday.
But Easter, during this week, is everywhere and affects the city's cultural, social, and even gastronomic life. The entire city is transformed and revels, because Easter Week in Seville is not only seen, it is also felt, smelled, tasted, and above all, lived.

The best group stag do in Seville
Why come to Seville for your stag do?
It would be rude to answer "you should know it, you're the one who asked for it”, so let's be clear and direct. People come to Seville because they want to eat well, drink well, and feel better.
Its atmosphere, its afternoon party, is famous throughout the country. People come here to have a good time, meet interesting people, and have a good conversation over a beer. Enjoy our people, the people who come, the cuisine, and the weather.
Because that's another thing: it's going to be very difficult for you to have a bad day here. An average day in Seville is a very good one almost anywhere else. So we have good weather, excellent cuisine, and the best atmosphere in the country.
And if that weren't enough, here you have everything you can imagine to enjoy on a stag do. In addition to the good vibes of its people and its streets, there's a huge agenda and leisure options, which you'll be able to discover and enjoy as soon as you arrive in Seville.
Best stag do activities in Seville
The streets of Seville as an activity for your stag do in Seville
We're not telling you to take to the streets, there to let yourself be walked on. We're telling you that one of the best things you can do in Seville is to blend in with the city itself. How beautiful.
Yes, it's beautiful and true. Get dressed up and hit the streets. To stroll, to have tapas, to have a beer here and another there. To chat with the people in the bars and taverns, to meet the locals and ask people for advice on what to eat, where, and when.
Here, life is lived on the streets. They say that life came from the water, well, it came to live in Seville. And if we're talking about water and Seville, we have to talk about the Guadalquivir, of course.
Guadalquivir River at your stag do in Seville
Even if you're thinking it's a good idea to jump into the Guadalquivir for a swim, it's best not to. Especially if you've been spending the afternoon with all your friends at the stag do. In fact, don't take any advice from anyone at the stag do. For your own good.
But it's true that the Guadalquivir River can offer you many things on this getaway to Seville. And what might interest you most, well, you and everyone at the stag do, is the party boat.
I suddenly see you're very interested in the Guadalquivir and the Torre del Oro. A boat passes by the river that is pure enjoyment: lots of music, a good atmosphere, and a good bar.
This is a great option to have a great time and, what's more, meet more people who are as eager to party as you. And if you suddenly find yourself at a hen do...love is in the air, my friend.
Lunch and Dinner in Seville on your stag do
We've already mentioned that the best thing to do is mingle with the locals and visit the best bars and taverns. But if what you're looking for is food, not snacks or tapas, then we're talking about something else.
Tapas are wonderful, but you may be looking to sit down for a couple of hours and eat starters, first course, main course, and dessert. If so, here are two options.
The first is to seek out the best restaurants in Seville, the most authentic ones that offer local products using only top-quality ingredients. This is a real treat for both the groom and the rest of you.
The second option is to find a place that offers more of a show. In this option, the food takes a backseat, and more attention is paid to the show than to what's on the plate. You'll find all kinds; from drag queens to themed ones. And when we say themed, it can be mysterious, erotic, almost anything you can imagine.
Isla Mágica for your stag do in Seville
This is a real coup. You grab the groom, and without asking him, without knowing if he likes rides, heights or not, who cares, you put a t-shirt with a picture of him on it, the worst you can find, and go on everything.
Isla Mágica is a very versatile option; you'll have a great time, and on top of that, it has a water park that's perfect for the warmer months. So you can combine the two and spend a day you can't even imagine. Or dedicate one day to one and the other to the other.
Do it however you want, but seriously consider the option of spending a whole day here and making sure to record the groom's panicked faces.
Bike and Beer at your stag do in Seville
Friends of bikes, beer, tourism, Seville, everyone, come this way. This activity should be a must-do at your stag do in Seville.
It doesn't matter if you're a fan of any of the above or not. Believe me when I say it's for all of you. A bike propelled by ten, twelve, or even fifteen of you, pedalling at the same time, while you have a beer, or two, or several.
It's a really fun activity, and while you laugh, drink beers, see Seville, and exercise, how can you do better than this?
Seville has a special colour, but the colour you'll all be wearing during your fantastic hen party is the one that matters, because you're going to have a great time. You'll eat, drink and laugh until you drop.
A hen party is always a reason for lots of partying and fun, but if you've chosen Seville as your destination, things get even more interesting.
Come with us and we'll give you the keys to getting the most out of your hen party in Seville with the best tips on activities in the Andalusian capital.
Why choose Seville for your hen party?
The question should really be the other way around: why wouldn't you choose Seville? Seville has everything you could want from a city with charm, history and entertainment. Seville is much more than you think.
Let's start with its location. The Guadalquivir River offers many possibilities, giving us the opportunity to include water activities. The surroundings of Seville are pure nature, which means we can add more things to do in the countryside. And finally, there are the people.
The atmosphere in Seville, its afternoon scene, is known throughout the country as one of the best in Spain. Seville has a lively atmosphere in its streets, bars that are always full, and local cuisine that is so good it will blow your mind.
The more you think about it and the more you read, the more you will realise that Seville is the best option for your hen party. But don't spend too long thinking about it, because you might end up moving here, as you will discover that Seville is truly amazing.
Best hen party activities in Seville
Boat party for your hen party in Seville
Let's start with the soul of Seville, one of its greatest sources of pride: the Guadalquivir River. And let's leave water sports aside, because you didn't come here to do sports, you came to have fun.
And one of the best things you can do on the Guadalquivir is hop on the party boat: the Seville Boat Party. This is one of the best parties in the city, with entertainers, a live DJ session and, wait for it, dinner with an open bar.
If anyone asks you if you saw anything famous in Seville, you can tell them about the Torre del Oro, a tribute to the country's naval history. The boat leaves from here, so you can show that you've done some sightseeing and had a great time at the same time.
Dinner and show for your hen party in Seville
For this type of event, you may find venues that offer complete packages including dinner, cocktails, a show and a party. It's up to you to decide what kind of dinner and show you want, but there are a couple of options that never fail.
The first is the famous Sevilla Show Restaurant, where you can enjoy a delicious meal, entertainment, drag queens, humour, good vibes and two of the main attractions of the venue and your hen party: eroticism and an open bar. To top it all off, you can end the party with a free drink and entry to the OCCO nightclub.
Our second favourite option is Restaurante Eroticus Sevilla. From the name alone, you can imagine that it's not exactly a place themed for basketball fans.
They keep the night lively, between dinner and drinks, and you'll laugh non-stop with their games, shows and the occasional more risqué performance. There's also an after-party at nightclubs, with a choice of two options.
Isla Mágica for your hen party in Seville
If you have decided to go to Seville for your hen party during the summer months, you may have discovered that splashing a little water on the back of your neck is not enough to cool you down.
So one of our recommendations, and favourite activities for your hen party, is to gather all your friends and head to Isla Mágica. You might ask, what does being hot have to do with riding a roller coaster?
The solution is that, in addition to the traditional amusement park, there is a water park with attractions and pools. So far, we've only given you some great ideas. But there's more.
Become Tom Rider at your hen party in Seville
This is amazing, but also completely crazy. For those of you who have played Playstation, you're sure to know Lara Croft. Well, even if you haven't played, you may have seen the film or something else. But Tom Rider is very famous.
Well, in Seville, you can become her to celebrate your hen party. There is a multi-adventure park on the outskirts where you can feel like her and do all her activities Lara Croft style. From zip lines to suspension bridges. Everything is high up, so if the bride has vertigo, she'd better think twice.
Bicibirra, beerbike, for your hen party in Seville
If jumping between trees and adventures aren't your thing, don't worry, there are endless things to do here in Seville. Let's see if we get it right this time. How about your next activity involves sitting down and drinking beer? We're starting to understand each other, right?
Welcome to Bicibirra, which offers exactly what it promises. An oval-shaped group bicycle that will take you to the most emblematic places in Seville. It's like being in a rolling bar.
But don't worry, as none of you will be in a fit state to drive, you'll have your own driver, who will also act as your guide. Of course, pedalling is non-negotiable.
Escape room for your hen party in Seville
If you're into solving mysteries and puzzles, the escape room is a must-do activity. Especially if the bride-to-be likes it, remember that you're taking her there to have fun. You can't just tease her.
Instead of recommending the classic escape room, we're going to give it a twist, taking advantage of the fact that we're in a city full of options and original ideas. So our first alternative is an outdoor escape room in the heart of Seville.
In the heart of Seville, work as a team to solve puzzles and be the first group to finish this original escape room. As well as having a great time, being fun and exciting, you can also check out places to go for tapas later. It's all advantages.
We're still in the city centre, but we're going one step further. More than an escape room, this could be a state-of-the-art treasure hunt, because you'll have to use augmented reality to get fully immersed in the game. Whether you're a tech geek or not, this game is on another level and you're going to love it.
Being in Seville and not going to see a flamenco show is like not having been there, or simply not having really felt it.
We don't tell you to go to cheap shows, which are just to attract the attention of those who don't know. We want to take you to places with charm, where flamenco is practised and enjoyed with all five senses.
That's where we're going to take you, to soak up the most international Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity that we have had since 2010, flamenco.
Best flamenco tablaos with live music in Seville
Flamenco Tablao El Arenal
Calle Rodó, 7
It is one of the best known venues in Seville. It is a fundamental part of both the city and the culture of flamenco. One of those great places, which are recognised by all those who know about the subject, and no wonder, after more than forty years.
The shows that take place every night inside the 17th century building, where El Arenal is located, are professional, with two daily shows of an hour and a half. They are on a par with the best flamenco shows you have ever seen. Here come established artists, great talents and local up-and-comers. Dancing, singing and Spanish guitar are fused together for you to enjoy something completely unique.
As you can imagine, it fills up very easily, so we recommend that you go early in the morning or try to book. Thanks to its latest refurbishment, no matter which table or place in the venue you choose, you'll be able to see the stage without any problems whatsoever.
Tablao Los Gallos
Plaza de Santa Cruz, 11
We continue to move among the great names of Sevillian flamenco, and we arrive at one of the oldest flamenco tablaos in Seville, open since 1966. It is a small venue, but it has plenty of space to host the greatness of its artists. Los Gallos has had on its stage names such as Farruco and Merche Esmeralda.
If you are a flamenco fan you will know who they are, and if not, look for a video of one of them and you will get an idea of the level of the tablao. Here you can feel the flamenco, and you can see it from the first moment you enter the place. The passion, especially of the dancing, hypnotises you and you won't let go. It is not for nothing that it is one of the most prestigious flamenco venues, in all its branches, in Seville.
The small size of the venue helps to create an intimate atmosphere and an impressive sound. Choose from one of their two shows per night, each lasting an hour and a half.
Casa de la Memoria
Calle Cuna, 6
There are many things that stand out about the Casa de la Memoria, such as the wide variety of artists they have, and that makes you hooked, whether you are a fan of the style of music or flamenco you are. It doesn't matter, every night is a new opportunity to let yourself be surprised.
Another aspect that makes it special, different from other tablaos, is its location. La Casa de la Memoria is in the Palace of the Countess of Lebrija, specifically in what used to be the old stables, dating back to the 16th century. It is a truly beautiful place.
When we talk about the plurality of its poster, we are not just saying that. It's that you can find the next great flamenco talent, someone who is just starting out, or national flamenco dance prizes and winners of other national awards. That's the level, and that's the idea of mixing. But they all have in common a passion, a talent and an appetite for flamenco that makes them special.
In times of high tourism, of many visitors, you can even find three shows a day, which is a real treat. Their shows last around an hour and we promise you'll be left wanting more.
Casa La Teatro
Mercado de Triana (puestos 11-12), plaza del Altozano
We continue with charming, different and very personal places. CasaLa Teatro may be the most beautiful, strange and intimate thing you have ever seen in your life. Intimate of course, because only 28 people will be able to see the show. Now that's exclusivity.
The idea couldn't be more original and, of course, it couldn't work better. Two stalls in the Triana Market are used as a venue, mini tablao, mini theatre and even a mini cinema. Art comes in a thousand forms here, and we recommend you take a look at their programme because they have some very interesting proposals.
When it comes to flamenco, you're not going to see a show where the artists are so close and eat up the stage. There are no tables or chairs, just seats like in the cinema, so not only will you have a unique experience, but you'll be more comfortable than you can imagine.
Tablao Flamenco El Palacio Andaluz
Calle Matemáticos Rey Pastor y Castro, 4
New to the world of flamenco? Great, because here you will be able to learn, see and feel the ABC of all the flamenco palos, which are the different styles, from alegrías to bulerías, including soleás.
Here the range is open, opening the door for the less experienced to gain experience and giving way to the masters to teach what they do best. So, depending on the day, you can enjoy it all, literally.
Check out their website to find out which shows and artists will be performing each night in their two hour and a half shows. It's up to you whether you want to accompany the show with a snack, a drink or a proper dinner.
Tablao Flamenco Casa de la Guitarra
Calle Mesón del Moro, 12
We enter another small temple of flamenco, where the guitar, as you can imagine, plays a fundamental role. Although it does not turn its back on singing and dancing, it is true that the guitar has a privileged place.
Its stage is very small, and here flamenco is a religion. To the point that drinking is not allowed during the performances. All five senses must be focused on the artists, so that they can transmit everything they have inside.
Although here flamenco is treated as something pure, unsweetened for those who have never seen a show, it is highly recommended even for those who have never heard or seen any flamenco. Because the passion of the artists themselves will make you enjoy yourself as if you were an expert.

Areas to celebrate New Year's Eve in Seville
We like people, the hustle and bustle, the good vibes and we like you. That's why we want to recommend the best places to go around Seville during the evening and New Year's Eve.
One of the main places to take the temperature of Seville's nightlife is Plaza Nueva. Right in the centre, this square is the epicentre of fun and life in Seville on any night, not to mention the one that takes place on New Year's Eve.
There are many bars around the square where you can enjoy a good route that combines local cuisine, drinks and an atmosphere with hundreds, even thousands, of people looking for the same good vibes.
Another place where there is no shortage of good atmosphere is Calle Tetuán. Here there are many restaurants that mix dinners, drinks and grapes. Here there are people who go just to have a bite and then leave or those who stay here all night. But if you want to know the best places with all their letters, their names and surnames, keep reading.
Best places in the center of Seville for New Year's Eve
JOY Hostels
Let's start at the beginning, let's start with the best; JOY. The JOY hostel doesn't offer a good plan, but the best, it offers you THE plan. Imagine being surrounded by an international atmosphere, with a great desire to party, dance, have a good time and meet people.
As a start, it's not bad. Add to that a cheap dinner, for €50, with limited seating and high-quality food. So for that money you get a great atmosphere, a cozy place, with food so good you'll think your own grandmother made it and, if that weren't enough, with the option of hiring the best pub crawl in Seville.
In case you're a bit lost, we'll tell you that pubcrawl is a route through the best bars in the city centre, with discounts and a guide. So you'll save yourself from wandering around in circles, you'll go straight to the heart of the matter, perhaps with the help of the best. But what more could you want? Here's the perfect plan.
Restaurants for New Year's Eve in Seville
In the heart of Seville's old town, with its very special atmosphere, we find the Casa del Tesorero restaurant, which is a must-visit place, without hesitation. Its Christmas menus are very complete, with details of local cuisine accompanied by top-quality wines.
The Abades Triana restaurant is well known for several reasons. Starting with the quality of the service and the food, and ending with its views of the Guadalquivir and its impressive terrace. It is a unique experience to visit it both on special dates and on a mid-year getaway. We don't need to say it, but just in case we remind you; make a reservation!
If you want something more modern, more up-to-date, go to La Azotea restaurant. Andalusian cuisine is king, but they give a twist to well-known dishes, giving them a new, more avant-garde touch. And no, the restaurant is not on a rooftop, we're warning you right now. This place is one of the most popular in the entire city of Seville.

Plaza Nueva is the nerve centre of the party and the best place to bid farewell to the year. It's like Puerta del Sol in Madrid, to draw a parallel and you can imagine the mess that can be made here.
If after all this you still feel like going to a club and dancing away the last of your energy, here are some very popular names.
The Abril Sevilla nightclub offers DJ sessions and live music to give this special night an even more magical tone, with a great atmosphere and good ticket and drink package deals. Take a look at their social networks if you want to keep up to date with everything.
The O'clock Sevilla nightclub is very well known today, among other things, for its quality music and theme parties. For New Year's Eve they offer special offers with discounts, they even offer bottles of champagne and more surprises and goodies. A very good option for New Year's Eve.
Very central and very close to JOY, is the Uthopía Sevilla nightclub, with one of the best shows of the night in Seville, you can't even imagine the mess they make on New Year's Eve. That's why it's one of the favorite stops on our pubcrawl. It has three floors, and on each one there's different music, in case you want to move in different environments, on the same night but without leaving the same club. In addition to its shows, its atmosphere, its good vibes and fantastic music, you should add its fireworks to the list. You read that right, they're really amazing.
And as all good things come to an end, this list could not be less. We put the end of the night, which is already good, at California Dreams Sevilla , with many surprises and fun, one of the most original and best valued places by the Sevillians.
And after all night of partying, there's nothing like sleeping in your own bed when you come to Seville, at JOY Hostels you have your home.

At night, all cats are grey and you are preparing to make the most of Seville. But what does the Andalusian capital have to offer you? What will you find tonight?
Instead of asking people and asking Google, take our advice and get ready for a good night of dancing, drinking and meeting people with the best Pubcrawl.
What is Pubcrawl?
Wait a second, do we all know what we're talking about? We love a good English term. We love setting up a meeting by making a call for a briefing. Well, if we're talking about getting drunk, things don't change, Anglo-Saxon elegance still reigns.
Have you ever arrived home with such a pedal that your mother told you: you haven't missed a single altar yet? Well, if you had enough strength and balance, you could have said to her: No, Mom, I've been on a Pubcrawl.
What you've done is to close down bars and you haven't left a single one behind. Well, that's basically what Pubcrawl is. They put you together with a group of people who are just as keen on partying as you, and they take you on a tour of the best pubs and bars in the area.
Now this is a good excursion and not the Free Tour you took this afternoon.
Common elements in the Pubcrawl
There are several companies that organize Pubcrawl in Seville, and in the rest of the country. Each one designs different routes, taking into account the best options depending on the characteristics of the group that night.
Don't think that you're left alone with a list of bars as if you were going to the supermarket with your shopping list. Not at all. You're always accompanied by a guide, a true 21st century shepherd who leads his flock through the lively Seville nightlife.
The money you pay to do the Pubcrawl is not like an all-inclusive bracelet. That money pays for the organizing company, welcome shots, saving you the queue at the entrance in most cases and good discounts on the drinks you order.
Being part of a Pubcrawl ensures you get to visit the best bars in the area, the trendiest ones, and not just one, you'll be in a minimum of two or three bars or pubs. The night is yours.
Advantages of Pubcrawl
It can't all be good things, you might be thinking. Well yes. Let's talk about money first. If you do a Pubcrawl you're going to save quite a bit of money. You'll have VIP access without having to pay a VIP, plus the discount on the drinks and shots they give you.
Another advantage is the time you save. You won't wander around Seville lost, depending on the advice of someone you meet. You'll go in a team, guided by an expert on Seville's nightlife, who will take you to the perfect place.
Another of the great advantages of Pubcrawl is the atmosphere. You won't go to places with strange environments or people who don't suit you. First of all, you move in a group, with a group that will be made up of Erasmus students and couples who want to have a good time.
In addition to the great atmosphere within your group, with people looking for exactly the same thing as you, the bars you will visit will be ideal for making new friends, dancing and spending a unique night.
Unwritten rules and rabbits of Pubcrawl
Well, they weren't written down until now, when we had to come and put some order and sanity in the Pubcrawl World. How we love a word in English, Oh my God!
First of all, no matter how much you want to party and party, remember to bring your identification, ID or passport, credit card and some cash. Cash is always useful, you can never have too much.
Make yourself look good. That doesn't mean you have to suffer. The Pubcrawl takes you around Seville and sometimes the bars you visit aren't wall to wall, so wear comfortable shoes, but don't be tacky.
Enjoy the night and don't rush. Remember that you are a group of people, one will go to the bathroom, another to order a drink, another to try to flirt,... But you are a team, a fist, a united locker room. You move as a group and the group doesn't leave anyone behind. So if you have to leave, and you don't find a couple of companions, let the guide do his thing and enjoy the atmosphere.
Last but not least, pace. Don't get carried away, don't get heated, don't get into a fight with anyone else to drink more. Drinking is like riding a bike; everyone has their own pace and if you try to keep up with someone else, they will destroy you. Word from Pubcrawl.
1. The cradle of tapas
Seville is often credited with being the birthplace of tapas. It is said that the tradition of serving small plates of food to accompany drinks was born here. Legend has it that King Alfonso X decreed that taverns could not serve wine unless accompanied by food to prevent drunkenness. Today, tapas are a staple of Spanish cuisine, and Seville's tapas are some of the best in the country. Exploring the city's tapas bars is a culinary adventure not to be missed.
2. The city of oranges
Seville is famous as the "City of Orange Trees". With some 25,000 bitter orange trees lining its streets, the city is filled with their fragrant blossoms, especially in spring. Although the fruit of these trees is too bitter to eat fresh, it is exported to Britain, where it is used to make the famous Seville orange marmalade. The scent of the orange blossoms, known as "azahar", is a charming feature of the city, especially in spring.
3. The spiritual home of flamenco
Although flamenco is popular throughout Spain, its spiritual home is in Seville. This exciting art of music and dance has deep roots in the city, especially in the Triana neighborhood. Historically, Triana has been a melting pot of cultures that has contributed to the development of flamenco. Attending a flamenco show in Seville is an immersive experience that offers a deep connection to Andalusian culture.
4. A culinary delight: Salmorejo
Seville is known for its delicious regional cuisine, and one dish that stands out is salmorejo. This cold, creamy tomato soup is similar to gazpacho but thicker and richer. Made with tomatoes, bread, olive oil, and garlic, and usually garnished with hard-boiled eggs and Serrano ham, salmorejo is a refreshing treat, especially during the hot summer months. It's a must-try for any foodie visiting the city.
5. The longest Holy Week processions
Holy Week in Seville is one of the most elaborate and well-known in Spain. The processions during this week are notable for their length and intensity. Some last up to 14 hours and involve thousands of people carrying enormous, intricately designed floats. These floats depict scenes from the Passion of Christ and are carried through the streets by "costaleros," who bear the weight on their shoulders.
6. The oldest operating room in Spain
The Teatro de la Maestranza, Seville's main opera house, is one of the oldest operating theatres in Spain. It opened in 1841 and has been a hub for cultural events such as opera, ballet and classical music concerts ever since. The theatre's grand architecture and acoustics make it a revered venue for artists and audiences alike.
7. April Fair
Seville's April Fair is one of the most vibrant and colourful in Spain. Held two weeks after Easter, it transforms the city into a lively spectacle of flamenco, bullfighting and fairground rides. The fairground fills with "casetas", decorated tents where locals gather to dance, eat and socialise. It's a week-long celebration of Sevillian culture and a fantastic time to experience the city's festive spirit.
8. The first tobacco factory in Europe
The Royal Tobacco Factory of Seville was the first of its kind in Europe and one of the largest industrial buildings of its time. Built in the 18th century, it now houses the University of Seville. This historic building is famous for being associated with Georges Bizet's opera "Carmen", as the protagonist Carmen worked in the factory as a tobacco worker.
9. A city of festivals
Seville is a city that loves to celebrate, with festivals taking place throughout the year. In addition to Semana Santa and the Feria de Abril, there are many other celebrations such as the Bienal de Flamenco, a prestigious flamenco festival held every two years, and the Seville European Film Festival, which showcases the best of European cinema. These events showcase the cultural richness of the city and the zest for life of its inhabitants.
10. The climate of Seville
Seville is one of the hottest cities in Europe, with summer temperatures often exceeding 40°C (104°F). This extreme heat has influenced many aspects of daily life in Seville, including the traditional siesta, in which shops close in the afternoon to allow residents to rest during the hottest part of the day. The city's warm climate also means that outdoor living is an important part of the Sevillian lifestyle, with many social gatherings taking place in plazas and street cafés.
Conclusion
Seville is a city that captivates visitors with its rich history, vibrant culture and unique traditions. Beyond its famous landmarks, the essence of the city lies in its lively festivals, culinary delights and the warm hospitality of its people. Whether strolling through its orange-scented streets, enjoying a flamenco show or savoring a plate of tapas, Seville offers a wealth of fascinating experiences that make it an unforgettable destination.
It could not be missed. The Soirée of the Year is becoming a gigantic event that grows year after year and has gone from being a novel and somewhat risky news item to being on all the country's agendas marked in red.
A lot has happened since that first edition in 2021 where Ibai Llanos put on the map an event where content creators, streamers and celebrities from all over the world would get into the ring.
It has had to adapt every year to a demand that has not stopped growing, making the event an event not to be missed, whether you are a boxing fan, a gamer or follow one of the amateur boxers.
In addition, every year it breaks the record for the most viewers of an event streamed live on Twitch. And this year, it looks set to break its own ceiling again.
Date, time and venue of La Velada del Año 5
In this edition we change location and go to the city of Seville. The Andalusian capital will be the epicentre of the internet the afternoon and evening of 26 July 2025.
So if you are in Seville, you are in luck, and if you are not, what are you waiting for to book your room at JOY and spend the weekend there?
Summer, Seville and weekend. If you add all this up, the equation results in a luxury getaway, but of course, it's very important to avoid the heat. Nobody is going to think of organising something at three o'clock in the afternoon, because it would be almost suicide.
And Ibai knows this, which is why the Velada of the Year will start at 20:00, seeking refuge from the cool of the night. By starting at that time, it is estimated that it could finish between 2 and 3 in the morning, taking into account the length of the performances and the fact that there will be seven bouts in total.
But where is Year 5? They couldn't have chosen a more emblematic venue; the Estadio de la Cartuja in Seville.
Prices of the tickets of La Velada del Año 5
Before you even consider the prices of the Evening of the Year, what you have to ask yourself is, will you be able to be quick enough to get one?
It's an event that has so many fans that tickets sell out in minutes, worse than a Coldplay concert. The prices have not been made official yet, and according to Ibai, they will only be made when all the performances are closed.
It is known that the prices will be very similar to those of the previous edition. Last year, in the Santiago Bernabéu, tickets in the Tribune area cost between 100 and 170 euros, those in the stands ranged from 35€ to 95€ and in the ring, depending on the proximity to the ring, the prices were between 100€ and 170€.
Although if you run out of tickets, or can't afford them, there is always the option of being one of the thousands and thousands of streaming viewers of the evening.
Confirmed fights for The Fight of the Year 5
Let's talk about what really matters, what you came to see; celebrities fighting each other. In previous editions, some boxing rules have been modified, including variations and even different types of fights, experimenting with new formats.
None of that. This year is a tribute to boxing as such. The participants have been preparing for months, and although helmet protection is mandatory, these amateur fights are as tough on the fighters as professional fights are.
First fight of La Velada del Año 5: Peereira vs Rivaldios
The first bout holds nothing back, there is anger, rancour and real hatred here. The good kind. The Mexican and the Galician have already had their ups and downs in other fights and in the presentation of this fight they almost came to blows. So we are off to a very strong start for the Velada 2025.
Second fight of La Velada del Año 5: Perxitaa vs Gaspi
Gaspi makes a big comeback. The Argentinian content creator, a living legend thanks to his unique humour, takes on another Spanish national myth; Perxitaa. As well as being an extremely famous content creator in the Spanish-speaking culture, Perxitaa is the president of a Kings League team, so there's a lot to like about this fight.
Third bout of La Velada del Año 5: Abby vs Roro
Abby vs Roro is like saying Twitch vs TikTok. The former had already ranting about the latter in a video, Roro was not amused and made it quite clear in the presentation of the fight. Another fight that is starting to heat up long before the bell rings.
Fourth bout of La Velada del Año 5: Andoni vs Carlos Belcast
So far all the fights have the common aspect of being very even, with very similar opponents. This may be the most evenly matched of them all. It's Mexico vs. Spain again, this time with two of the biggest names in content creation and bodybuilding. What a pair to fight.
Fifth bout of La Velada del Año 5: Alana vs Ari Geli
Did someone say Mexico vs Spain? Well come on, another one here. Third duel of nationalities between Alana, who already knows what it's like to step into the ring of La Velada del Año since last year, and Ari Geli who, although basketball is his thing, you can never trust him. It will be an evenly matched and, for sure, very entertaining fight. So far, the bar has not been lowered, and we only have two fights left.
Sixth fight of La Velada del Año 5: ViruZz vs Tomás Mazza
This is where it starts to get serious. So serious that it could be a professional level fight. ViruZz has been a full participant in La Velada del Año 5, so you can imagine how fine he is. But the guy in front of him is no slouch, he's in spectacular shape and also has boxing experience; Tomás Mazza has come to take ViruZz's temper down a notch.
The seventh bout of La Velada del Año 5: The Grefg vs Westcol
Although it might seem that the main course of the evening could be the main course, in reality the seventh and final bout is the one that will break all the audience records.
The Grefg will face Westcol, a content creator with a badass profile and who has already started to make his own trouble, demanding not to wear a protective helmet. This has caused the fight to wobble, as for safety reasons, the use of helmets is mandatory. Surely they will find an agreement and give us all the spectacle we are all waiting for.
Where to stay during Velada del Año 5
If you add to the above mentioned formula of summer, Seville and weekend, staying in the best hostel in Seville, then you have an awesome plan. Spend the night in the centre of Seville, in JOY Hostel you will have all the comforts of a hotel with the atmosphere of a hostel. Seriously, are you going to let it slip away?
But don't think that we only sleep here, not at all. At JOY we have the best atmosphere in town, and you'll be able to enjoy it from the moment you step foot in our hostel. So before you go to La Velada, put on your swimming costume, socialise on our rooftop terrace, take a dip in the pool, and savour the Seville summer with the best company.

C. Gamazo, 6, A, Old Town
Would you go to a bar called El Bar? Of course you would, why? Because it sounds like the best bar of all the bars in the city, because it's the one that has earned the title, it's not just any bar, it's THE bar.
If we agree on this, let us accompany you to La Taberna, because it is what it sounds like, the best tavern in the centre of Seville. It's small, cosy and very popular, and the latter is not because of any marketing campaign, it's because they've made a good job of it.
Its menu brings you the most typical of Seville's gastronomy, with a fantastic value for money. The ambience is as good as the food. The dishes make you go, but the atmosphere and the treatment of the staff will make you come back.
Bar Casa Morales
El Rinconcillo
Bar Dos de Mayo
You might think we're selling you a bike, but we're not.
First, because we know that what you like is running and second, because we speak to you from the heart. From runner to runner. The Seville Marathon has become a must-see event on the calendar for national and international athletes looking to improve their personal best because its flat circuit is the flattest in Europe, at sea level and protected from the wind. In addition, the marathon is held at the end of February, with an ideal temperature for running and giving it your all. So if your idea is to go for your personal best, you know; think about your planning, series, long runs, nutrition, hydration, shoes with or without carbon plates... think about whatever you want, but this is your race.
Run between iconic monuments
The Seville Marathon route is a true feast for the senses. The Seville Marathon is held on a spectacular circuit, which runs through the monumental area by the most emblematic places in the city, such as the Plaza de España, the Torre del Oro, La Giralda, the Parque de María Luísa or the Maestranza. A route that allows you to discover the main monuments of our city at marathon pace.
Festive Atmosphere
Seville is joy and we are proud that something you will not miss is the warmth of our people. The Seville Marathon stands out for the festive atmosphere that surrounds the race and how we support the runners and carry them on our shoulders. Throughout the course, you will feel hundreds of spectators cheering you on, giving you that extra energy you need when your legs start to fail. The music bands, dance groups and live performances add a special touch that turns the race into a real party, as it could not be otherwise when talking about Seville and our people.
Tips for successfully competing in the Seville Marathon
It's not that we're going to give you advice that you haven't read or heard before, but it never hurts to review what we already know:
Relax
For most of us who face a marathon, the body starts to play tricks on us in the days leading up to it and we begin to have strange pains, discomforts... at first we ignore them. It's the brain that already begins to sabotage us to convince us not to run.
Take care of your diet and hydration
The days before, it is advisable to increase the carbohydrate and water intake. Having a two-litre bottle of water the day before to make sure we drink enough is not a bad idea. You already know what breakfast is like before the race; don't try anything new. Eat what you know works for you and what your stomach is used to. During the race, hydrate and nourish yourself as planned.
Don't let the dorsal effect betray you
Go out for a run as you planned. It's not about getting carried away by the back effect or getting down because you're overwhelmed by the atmosphere. Relax and enjoy it. Don't get overwhelmed by the crowd at the start of the race. If you start passing people by going from one side to the other, you're only going to waste energy that you'll need at the end.
Don't let blisters or chafing ruin your experience
Use Vaseline or anti-chafing cream. For your feet, it's good to wear tight or anti-chafing socks, and it's also a good idea to combine them with anti-chafing cream. Wear clothes that you've used on long runs, preferably light-coloured and technical. It's about being as comfortable and dry as possible. There's no point in wearing brand new marathon shoes.
Warm up, you're leaving
It's a good idea to warm up a little before the race. This will allow you to feel good from the start. Don't overdo it either, because you have 42 km ahead of you. After the race, it's advisable to walk for a while because the day after the race life goes on and you'll need your legs to move around. Eat some protein, carbohydrates and, above all, hydrate yourself as if it were forbidden.
